June’s Chocolate Coconut Cookies


2 cups sugar

½ cup milk

½ cup butter

6 tbl cocoa

Boil ingredients for 1 minute,


Mix in

3 cups quick oats,

1 tsp vanilla

1/2 cup peanut butter or ½ cup coconut, or ½ cup nuts


Drop by spoonfuls on wax paper

Orange Cake
 
1 orange cake mix
1/3 cup oil
1 1/3 cups water
1 small pkg orange jello (dry)
3 eggs
Bake at 350 in two layers.
 
When cooled split layers (using thread) to make 4 layers.
 
Filling
2 cup sugar
1 16oz sour cream
1/3 cup frozen orange juice
1 small pkg frozen coconut
 
Mix well and spread between layers saving 1 cup to use in the frosting.
 
Frosting
Add the 1 cup of filling to 8 ounces size cool whip.  Cover the top and sides of cake.
 
I made the cake in 4 pans.  I found the filling to be very running.  The man that gave me the recipe said if you cut the layers that they asorb the filling better but I didn't trust my cutting abilities.  It worked with the four different pans but you will have to wipe the run off before putting on icing.  Also I let the coconut thaw at room temperture.
 
The people I had over loved it.  There was none left.
